Why?

Emotions shape our experiences, decisions, and relationships. When we or those around us feel stuck in negativity or self-doubt, the Elevation Strategy provides a structured way to intentionally shift to a more empowered state. By adjusting Physiology, Focus, and Language, we can elevate conversations, inspire others, and create lasting positive change.

What?

A practical approach to The Triad 🔼 Model to uplift emotional states.

The Elevation Strategy and the Triad are closely related concepts in Tony Robbins' and Cloe Madanes' teachings, but they are not exactly the same. The Triad is a foundational concept that explains how three elements—Physiology, Focus, and Language—interact to determine our emotional state. The Elevation Strategy uses the principles of the Triad to help individuals elevate their emotional state.

Here’s how they relate and differ:

The Triad

The Triad consists of three components that influence our emotional state:

  • Physiology – How we use our body (posture, movement, breathing).
  • Focus – What we pay attention to (thoughts, beliefs, mental images).
  • Language – The words we use (self-talk and spoken expressions).

Elevation Strategy

The point is to to shift from a disempowered state to an empowered one.

The Elevation Strategy is a practical application of the Triad, specifically designed to uplift emotional states—both for ourselves and others. It involves intentional shifts in Physiology, Focus, and Language to guide conversations toward higher levels of positive intention and self-perception.

How?

To apply the Elevation Strategy, we consciously modify the Triad components:

Physiology:

  • Stand tall, breathe deeply, and adopt confident, open body language.
  • Engage in movement (a walk, stretching, or even a power pose).

Focus:

  • Shift attention from problems to solutions, strengths, and opportunities.
  • Encourage gratitude, future visioning, or recalling moments of success.

Language:

  • Replace negative self-talk with empowering affirmations.
  • Use uplifting metaphors and comparisons to create an inspiring self-image.

Examples

A key technique of the Elevation Strategy is drawing comparisons to admired figures to boost self-image and motivation.

🔹 Therapeutic Example:

    • A couple struggling in their relationship was compared to Rhett Butler & Scarlett O’Hara, elevating them to the status of an iconic love story and shifting their perspective.

🔹 Coaching Examples:

    • A client was compared to Cary Grant for his ability to remain elegant and humorous under pressure.
    • A leader was encouraged to embody qualities of Ronald Reagan or Margaret Thatcher for confidence and decisiveness.
    • A husband with a mustache was likened to Clark Gable, which delighted both him and his wife, reinforcing their bond.

Summary

💡 The goal of the Elevation Strategy is to help individuals see themselves in a more empowering light, leading to better confidence, stronger relationships, and greater resilience.

By learning to elevate others, we create a ripple effect of positivity, motivation, and transformation.
