♟️ Model - Blueprint & Suffering

As Tony Robbins says, "The only thing keeping you from getting what you want is the story you keep telling yourself about why you can't have it."

Why?

Suffering arises when life does not align with our expectations and when we believe we are powerless to change it. Understanding this dynamic allows us to regain control and shift our perspective toward empowerment.

What?

The Blueprint & Suffering Model explains why suffering occurs and how to overcome it. There are two primary causes of suffering:

Suffering happens when:

  1. First, what’s happening in this area of your life does not match your model of the world.
  2. Second, you believe with absolute certainty that you are powerless to change it.
Suffering occurs when you accept the limiting belief
that you have no control over your life.
💡
b) Pain is inevitable but suffering is not. Suffering is optional. We can always do something to change the pain, even if only in small ways. Everything in the world is constantly changing and so the nature of pain changes also.

How?

To break free from suffering, we must challenge our limiting beliefs and adjust our mindset:

✅ Align Your Model of the World:

  • Reevaluate expectations—are they realistic?
  • Shift focus from what is lacking to what is possible.

✅ Reclaim Your Power:

  • Challenge the belief that you are powerless.
  • Take small, meaningful actions to create change.

Example

A couple facing marital struggles believed their problems were insurmountable. By shifting their perspective and focusing on positive memories, they redefined their relationship dynamics. This mindset shift improved their connection and even contributed to better health and well-being.

Summary

💡 Understanding suffering as a gap between expectation and perceived powerlessness helps us reclaim control. When we change our perspective and take action, we move from suffering to growth and transformation.

While pain is inevitable, suffering is optional. We always have the ability to change our response, even in small ways, and take steps toward a better outcome.
